A CPD is a mandatory form of continuing education designed to meet the changing educational needs of real estate registrants.
CPD will improve public protection; improve the professional image of registrants; and reduce potential claims against registrants.
INTRODUCTION
The Association of Saskatchewan REALTORS® is a non-profit organization mandated to serve, represent and provide direction and leadership to its members. The Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission is mandated to protect the public interest by ensuring that registrants act within a professional framework that promotes ethical conduct and integrity and strengthens consumer trust and confidence.
The Commission is responsible for establishing and monitoring education standards for licensing purposes. Current bylaws outline the requirement of completing the CPD education program by all registrants of the Province of Saskatchewan within the Commission’s registration cycle - July 1 to June 30.
Registration renewal with the Commission is directly tied to the successful completion of the required CPD course within the one year registration period beginning July 1.
Please note that class must
be completed by May 31.
Commission Bylaws 329, 330, 331 and 409 outline the requirements for completing the CPD course, the consequences of not complying, and the procedure and costs associated with applying for an extension of the date for completion.
The CPD program includes topics such as legislative changes, compliance issues, legal updates, risk reduction strategies and other timely issues. CPD is in place to improve public protection, to improve the professional image of registrants, and to reduce potential claims against registrants.
